How to Make 100 Dollars Fast

It can be difficult to make money quickly when you need it. However, if you're willing to work hard, there are countless ways that you can make $100! If you're tech-savvy, try hiring out your skills online. If your house is filled with things that you no longer need, host a garage sale or sell them online to make some easy cash. Think about what skills you have and offer your services to friends and family. Be creative - the options are only limited to your imagination!

Method 1
Doing Odd Jobs

  1. 1
Look for gigs in your local classified ads to find quick work. Nestled below the “Jobs” category, Gigs is used to list more unusual, usually one-time jobs in the area. You are likely to find opportunities to clean, transport cars, write, promote local businesses, or do manual labour. You won't need to do many gigs to make an easy $100.[1]
    • Respond immediately to the listing for the best chances of landing the gig.
    • If you're under 18, bring someone with you to the job site. It's always safer when there's two of you.
    • Look online and in newspaper classifieds.
  2. 2
Do yard work in your neighborhood if you enjoy being outdoors. If you have access to gardening tools, try knocking on doors and ask to be hired for yard work such as raking leaves, shovelling sidewalks, or mowing lawns. If it is Christmas time, offer to hang their Christmas lights. Be creative with your offers![2]
    • Try to price your service according to the time it takes to complete the task. For instance, a task that takes an hour might warrant $20 or $25, while a task that takes 15 minutes might warrant $5 or $10.
    • Bring a friend along with you when you knock on doors. This is a safer option and will likely be much more fun.
  3. 3
Offer to babysit for friends and family if you like kids. If you are good with young children and have a friendly demeanour, consider working as a babysitter. Let your friends and family know that you are looking for babysitting work. Once you have looked after their children, ask them to help spread the word of what a great babysitter you are![3]
    • If you are having trouble finding work, print fliers with your contact details on them and place them in letterboxes around your neighbourhood (provided that this is legal in your community).
    • The pay rate will vary depending on how many children you babysit and long you are looking after the children. On average, the pay tends to be about $10 per house so you would need to work for 10 hours to make $100.
  4. 4
Walk neighbourhood dogs or offer to pet sit if you love animals. In many households, pets are considered fully fledged members of the family and pet owners are willing to pay to have their animals well looked after while they are at work or on vacation. Let friends and family know that you are looking to make some extra money and are willing to look after their pets.[4]
    • Choose another a different money-making option if you're not experienced with dogs.
    • Pay rates will vary depending on what the dog owner is willing to pay. $15 per half hour walk is about normal so you would need to do 3-4 hours of dog walking to make $100.
  5. 5
Drive your way to $100 with Uber or Lyft if you have your own car. If you live in a populated area and have a valid driver's license, you may be able to make a nice profit by offering your services as a driver. Apply online to start the registration process. The great thing about driving for Uber or Lyft is that you are able to pick your own schedule, which is really useful if you have kids or a full-time job.[5]
    • You will only need to work about 5 hours a week to make $100.
  6. 6
Rent out your spare room to strangers if you live in a popular tourist area. Many travellers like the more personal and affordable option of renting a room instead of a traditional hotel. Simply take great photos of the room and amenities, write a description of the house, and list the room on a vacation rental site.[6]
    • Airbnb is the most popular site for travellers looking to stay in houses. HomeAway is another good option.
    • If you are renting your house, make sure you check with your landlord before subletting any rooms. Similarly, always ask your parents before attempting to rent out your room!
    • If you are going away for the weekend, consider listing the entire house.
    • The rate for renting a room varies dramatically depending on the area that you live and how nice your house is. Look online at room rentals in your area to get an idea of what to charge.

Method 2
Working Online

  1. 1
Get paid to take surveys online. Many companies will pay you to take surveys in order to get feedback about their products, services, or target market. Most surveys only take about 5 minutes to complete and are paid between $0.50 and $5 each. Sign up at an online survey site to start taking surveys.[7]
    • MySurvey, Earning Station, Survey Junkie, and iSurvey World are popular paid online survey sites.
    • You might need to sign up on several different sites and do surveys for a while before getting paid. In order to get paid you will normally need a PayPal account.
    • Check to make sure that the site pays in cash, since many survey sites pay in gift cards and prizes.
  2. 2
Lend your skills on a freelance marketplace if you have industry experience. There is an ever-increasing demand for qualified freelancers, which is great news if you want to make money from home. If you are a skilled writer, designer, administrator, or translator, there are people that are willing to pay for your skills. Choose an online freelancing platform, create a profile, and start applying for freelance gigs.[8]
    • Fiver, Upwork, and Craigslist are popular freelance platforms.
  3. 3
Teach your native language online if you like tutoring. The demand for language teachers, especially English, is high. Search online for a platform that allows you to teach your native language and create a profile. Some sites will require you to have a degree, whereas other sites only require that you are a native speaker.[9]
    • Chegg Tutors, Noodle, University Tutor, and Take Lessons are popular language teaching platforms.
    • On average you can expect to earn US$15 per hour.

Method 3
Selling Unused Items

  1. 1
Sell any clothes that you no longer wear. Most of us have clothes in our wardrobes that we don't wear anymore, or no longer fit. Look through your closet and identify any clothes that you haven't worn in the last year. List the clothes on sites like eBay, Craigslist, or Designer Wardrobe and simply wait for people to buy them![10]
    • Try listing your clothes for sale on your social media channels and see if any of your friends are keen to buy them.
    • Take high quality pictures of your clothes to increase the likelihood of people purchasing them.
  2. 2
Host a garage sale and sell old or unused items. Look around your house and gather unwanted items into boxes. Consider selling old children's toys, DVDs and video games, furniture, and clothes. Put up signs around your neighborhood advertising your garage sale and let friends and family know. Arrange the items for sale on tables or on a rug.[11]
    • Price your items realistically to increase the amount of money you make. It's better to sell lots of items for a slightly lower price than to only sell a few things.
    • Ask your parents for help if you live at home.
  3. 3
List unused items online or on social media pages. Selling unwanted household items is one of the quickest ways to make money quickly. Simply take photos of anything you no longer use and list the item online. Make sure to include all the details of the item, such as the dimensions and brand, so that people know what they are buying.[12]
    • Research what similar second-hand goods are selling for and set your prices accordingly.
    • Craigslist, eBay, and Facebook Marketplace are popular and effective sites for selling second-hand goods.
    • Always be safe when you sell items online. Offer to post items instead of having buyers pick them up. If the buyer needs to pick an item up, make sure someone else is home when they arrive.
